Bwin Mobile Poker ReviewBwin are one of the oldest operators in online poker. Since their inception in 1999, Bwin has gone on to become the largest poker network in Europe. Following their merger with PartyPoker, they now have the second largest player pool in terms of overall traffic, surpassing even Full Tilt. In 2011, Bwin made history by becoming the first real-money poker app to be listed in the Apple App Store. Following its success, the company later released an Android version and a dedicated HD version for the iPad and iPad Mini.

Software
The Bwin Android app uses Bwin's slick black colour scheme, which is very attractive and easy on the eye. For No Limit and Pot Limit games users can choose to specify a betting amount by using the “Betting Wheel”. Alternatively they can select the the “Bet Mode” option to activate pre-calculated amounts, such as All In, Half Pot and Pot..
A main menu can be expanded from the left side of the screen that will quickly allow you to access the cashier, Sit Out, leave the game or change the apps settings (On/Off Auto post blinds, Four color deck, Sound and Vibrate when silent). Players can also access an info section where they can review their hand history, past winners and pot sizes.
During our tests we found the app to be extremely responsive. Once we had chosen our game preferences, we were seated at the table immediately. We didn’t experience any dropped connections or lags on either 3G or WiFi connections.

Competition
Although many of Bwin's poker players come via their huge sportsbook and casino player base, bwin poker players are not at bad as you might expect. The merger of their player pool with PartyPoker has made play a little tighter although there is still plenty of fish to be found at the lowers stakes games.
Conclusion
Bwin Mobile is a solid poker app that played better than we expected. The app is visually attractive and the mobile software runs smoothly. However, since the app was released in 2011, there doesn’t appear to have been too many additions in terms of functionality. It would be nice to be able to take party in SNG’s like you can with 888 and in freeroll tournaments like those offered by Terminal Poker. The app also doesn’t offer multi-tabling, any type of speed poker format or even other poker variants such as Omaha. Having said that, bwin has managed to produce a good quality poker app that looks great and plays even better. New players are also treated to a $500 welcome bonus.
